Price
I offer my services in two ways: either by an hourly fee for on-site work, or on a job-by-job basis for work I conduct on my premises. I price in these two ways simply because the type of problem demands it. Generally it's cheaper when I work on your computer at my own premises, and in both cases I aim to be the best and cheapest service in the city.
Drop-Off Pricing - around $40!
To save money, or due to the nature of the problem, you may instead choose to drop your computer off at my home. Some problems require scans or updates that can take several hours, and I feel it's dishonest for techs to charge an hourly rate to sit and wait for a scan to complete. Malware (virus/spy-ware/ad-ware etc) removal and certain hardware problems (particularly with the memory) almost always require extensive scanning, so I strongly recommend a drop-off for these problems. Unlike high-street stores, your drop-off will be to my home. This means you know where I live, which should make you feel a little more secure about parting with your computer. I do please ask that you call ahead before a drop-off though, to be sure I'm there to collect it. If you are unable to deliver your computer to me, or would prefer I pick it up, I am available to come collect it for a small fee.Typical drop-off services and charges:
- Pop-ups/slow computer/virus alerts/malware (usually $40 and completed within 24 hours)
- Software/hardware installation ($10-$40, can often be complete while you wait)
- Diagnosing/repairing/replacing hardware problems ($25-$50)
On-Site Pricing - just $25 per hour!
Some problems may exist at your home that you can't pick up and move. Perhaps you have a networking problem, or you don't feel comfortable unplugging and bringing me your desktop computer, or you suspect it will be a quick problem and would rather I come look in person. As I write, the cheapest services I know of in the Mansfield and surrounding cities is $40 per hour, which is my normal rate. However as I am currently working on building my client-base, I am charging just $25 per hour. This is a limited-time offer, so please spread the word quickly! Rather than charge a arbitrary call-out fee, I incorporate the first hour into my charge. In other words, if I fix your problem in 30 seconds then you won't be charged a call-out fee. Instead you would pay for the first hour - currently just $25 - and I would then stay for the full hour to diagnose and fix any additional problems you have, free of charge.Typical on-site services and durations:
- Unable to access the Internet (1-3 hours, depends on the cause)
- Requesting a few hours tutorial on your computer or the Internet (hourly rate)
- Setting up your home-network (2-3 hours)
- Setting up your home-office (2-4 hours)
- Installing hardware (1 hour)
- Any situation where you don't feel comfortable transporting your computer
Bundling - discounts
In an effort to reduce your costs and increase my business, I now offer bundled servicing for drop-offs. Essentially this means the more problems/computers you bring me to repair at once, the cheaper it becomes for you. I price based on your unique situation, but as an example I have offered to install a part for one computer for $20, $15 for the second, and $10 for each one thereafter.
